It was like I turned 40 and my body forgot how to build muscle and burn fat. I couldn't even look at a cookie with out putting on 5 lbs. Then, when I would do my usual tricks: eat "clean", workout, drink lots of water to lose the weight, it just wouldn't work. Here is the most frustrating thing, I knew better. I am a fitness professional who is now struggling with this 15 lbs that fell on my body overnight. How could I lead the ladies in my community if I am not able to do it. It took me some time to get to the bottom of what was going on. To understand that I had entered into peri/menopause at the ripe ole' age of 38 and my hormones we in decline, my adrenals were fried and I couldn't train the way I used to and get those results.

My journey of regaining my health began with learning more about what it truly meant to go through peri/menopause. Then I found the one thing that would change all things, Strength Training. Good bye HIIT, I no longer was looking to just be tired from a workout, I wanted results. When I started to lift heavier weights I felt amazing . I gain muscle quicker, which made me want to eat better. When I ate better I felt less agitated and noticed my relationships improve. Strength Training became my game changer.
